The return of Bloodbowl. Some players started a revival at the club of this popular game. If you are interested bring your team along on a Thursday or arrange a game on our facebook group.
Blood Bowl is a Fantasy Football game created by Jervis Johnson for the British games company Games Workshop (but now under the aegis of their Specialist Games division) as a parody of American Football. The game was first released in 1987 and has been re-released in new editions since. Blood Bowl is set in an alternate version of the Warhammer Fantasy setting, populated by traditional fantasy elements such as human warriors, goblins, dwarves, elves, orcs and trolls. I don’t know who posted this up on Wikipedia but two players had a game last week. A revival as it has often been played at the Headingley Games Club.
Some new terrain being used last Thursday as the interest in this games system continues to grow at the Headingley Games Club. http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/.
Dave at our club says “Away with you Agricola. Leave now Le Havre. Push off Puerto Rico. There’s a new worker placement/resource management game in town (actually a few years older than some of the above), its name is Caylus, and it’s really rather good.” This game is attracting more enthusiasts each week but it was published in 2005, Boardgamegeek says
Once upon a time …
1289. To strengthen the borders of the Kingdom of France, King Philip the Fair decided to have a new castle built. For the time being, Caylus is but a humble village, but soon, workers and craftsmen will be flocking by the cartload, attracted by the great prospects. Around the building site, a city is slowly rising up.
The players embody master builders. By building the King’s castle and developing the city around it, they earn prestige points and gain the King’s favor. When the castle is finished, the player who has earned the most prestige wins the game. The expansion Caylus Expansion: The Jewellerwas included in the 2nd Edition. It all looks very exciting:
