DBMM is Played at Headingley. Northern League in session on a Sunday competition

DBMM is Played at Headingley. Northern League in session on a Sunday competition. 2017 rounds of the Northern League. New Headingley Club in Headingley, Leeds. First game Seleucids invade Ptolemaics. (Very historically accurate).

DBMM is played at Headingley Games Club. The game using Wargame’s Research-DBMM – De Bellis Magistrorum Militum rules for ancient battles. The club has five players who use this rule set. The rules best suit 15mm figures. All details can
be found on http://dbmm.org.uk/. Come along and watch a game.

A period of neglect.

Yes. A period of neglect. A long holiday and playing too many games…can there be too many? All this meant I haven’t had much time to update this website, which is a pity as the club is thriving with plenty of gamers and lots of different games played from all periods and ranges. Come along and join in on our regular Thursday night sessions at the Heart Centre.

De Bellis Antiquitatis (DBA) by Wargames research in 15mm

We are reviving our interest in this games system by Wargames Research Group. De Bellis Antiquitatis (DBA) by Wargames Research Group in 15mm. n army consists of 12 units (called “elements”), classified as Blades, Warband, Knights and so forth. The rules are very simple (and can actually fit on one sheet of paper) but nevertheless pretty effective. We tend to use the earlier versions of the rule set 1990 or 1995. Its quick and fast and there are about 300 armies from 3000 AD to 1450 AD to choose from.

DBMM-De Bellis Magistrorum Militus 15mm Patrician Romans poncing about before collapsing.

DBMM-De Bellis Magistrorum Militus 15mm  Patrician Romans poncing about before collapsing – back to the drawing board. The armies in the Patrician Roman list cover the period from the rise to power of Aetius as Patrician in the West to the overthrow of the Italian Kingdom of the general Odoacer by the Ostrogoths in the West and the accession of Zeno in the East

Last Thursday’s game of DBMM was about to end for the Romans. dbm We still have a substantial team of 15mm ancients players who follow the family of games of De Bellis Magistrorum Militus or DBMM II. It all started long ago with the brilliant De Bellis Antiquitatis (DBA) Ancients Wargame Rules 1.1 and then came the evolution……of Wargames of ancient battles 3000BC to 1550 AD. Dacians with Sarmatian allies march out against another army…lots of light horse

Flames of War-Late Italian against the US First Armoured

A game of Flames of War; Battlefront’s popular game system. There are several  players of this at the club and some are getting going again. We have got Late, Mid’ and Early versions of Brits,Soviet, German, US and Blitzkrieg French and German. In this battle the Italians have some good tanks and were confident veteran against a confidant trained US tank army deploying 12 Grants and a support units. Steve Nolan playing Italian got off to a good start by bagging two Grants and rushing an objective on the other side of the board. A reinforcement of another platoon of Grants, a tenacious resistance by the US artillery and recon combined with a long run of poor dice roles for the Italians secured a US victory-just.

Ralph is selling his Flames-of-War German Army

Ideally I’m wanting to sell them off as one lot. Wanting £300 for them, but willing to take offers.

Cheers Ralph. See Ralph on http://www.leeds-nightowls.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=4996.0

Well, seen as how I haven’t seen it played in time, and I don’t think I’ll ever get round to playing it again, I’m selling off my Flames of War Army.

They were originally modelled as fallschirmjaeger but could of course be used as any Germans!

I don’t advertise products on this website but I think it’s scandalous how much wargames outlets charge for brushes compared to these.
